Niagara Falls, NY is technically a state park, and while admittance to view the millions of gallons falling over a huge crest is free, it's run like an amusement park, with closer (and wetter) access to better views are a premium. Neither the Mister or I have working passports right now, so we only went to the US side, but it was breathtaking nonetheless.

Apparently, my big thing this trip was to give things the double thumbs up. I don't usually do that. It
was a great trip.

In the Wind Cave Exploration attraction (not actually a windy cave, but an elevator shat dug out of the side of the canyon, that gets you to within 10 feet of the Bride's Veil fall (aka the Hurricane Experience), there were tons of nesting seagulls. The juveniles were pretty cute and fluffy.

They give you souvenir shoes (return for recycling optional) for the Wind Cave trip, because you real shoes will just get soaked if you try to go without cheap-Croc-like sandals.
