Ithaca Beer & Soda Company
These guys have some great beer (plus root and orange soda), and they open up their front doors to tasters and tourists on the weekends.  We went twice.

Shiny City on a Hill: Cornell University in Ithaca, NY
the reunited couple by sunset
My partner went to the Cornel School for Critisism & Theory (aka summer camp for grown-ups) for 6 weeks, in Ithaca, NY.  This is the weekend I drove 6 hours north to pick him up.

Utility work for Chancellor's Row
The dug up the greenspace outside my condo apartment's window for like two weeks. I dealt with it because it means that the development is going to raise my property values.

July 21, 2011 : Sarah & Joeseph

Sarah & Joeseph at her birthday party
Joseph was one my first friends when I moved back to D.C. in 2006.  We met at the Modern Times cafe friday Open Mic series, and bonded over cigarette smoking and shared socialist interests. In 2008, our respective girlfriends broke up with us in the same week, totally separately, and our friendship really solidified when we had lots of sad bastard not-dates together at his house in Pleasant Plains, and my apartment in Brightwood.

We're both happily dating awesome people, and I've become friends with Joe's girlfriend Sarah, who lives in Mount Pleasant, and comes to yoga classes with me.

July 19, 2011 : Deanwood

Eads Street NE at 45th St, Deanwood
I sold this house in Deanwood to a couple who are friends of mine.  I hadn't ever been to Deanwood, a great residential neighborhood tucked in between the National Arboretum to the North, Eastern Avenue to the East, and East Capitol Street to the South, before I was showing them properties.  Working with them was a really great set of adventures, discovering and being awed by new-to-me areas of my beloved city.

I park on Monroe Street between 16th & 14th Street, NW when I drive east to my Columbia Heights studio from my job in Friendship Heights.

Monroe Street bet 16th & 14th Sts NW, American Flag
I think the street is uber-charming.  One time, during a big snow storm and I had left my car at home, and I walked across Monroe Street right here and EVERBODY had shoveled their walk, and it smelled like fireplace fire, and it was the best thing that happened to me all day.
