Now that my container system has expanded and exploded with the addition of several nursery plants (Lemongrass, lemon thyme), and some transplants from my parents' garden (the mints), I decided it was time to put together my Window Farm.
Notes: Bead chain hurts my thumbs like a mother-effer. It is hard to drill large holes in plastic bottle bottoms. And my kit was missing the essential piece of tubing to connect the water reservoir to the pump. So, I got one column mostly assembled last night, but I'll have to make a trip to a pet store to get the air line tubing tonight.
Hopefully I'll have the columns up this week!
I'll also be adding one each: Key Lime, Meyer Lemon and Calomondin Orange to my collection, little rooted cuttings.
I'm practically bouncing with the excitement of all of my plants, especially my strong focus on citrusy plants. I'm scheming to make awesome lemony herbal teas!
