One of my colleagues, Ira Hersh, has the most amazing listing that I got to visit yesterday!

It's a not-very-wide, but very deep lot, with a small carriage house in the back, the lower level outfitted as an artist's studio, the upper level a wonderful one-bedroom apartment that is the most fantastic artist's studio you could imagine.  Bookshelves, little pieces of art, a platform bed, neat old furniture, a dated but impeccable kitchen.

The neighborhood around the property has grown up and out and a lot more expensive in the intervening years since she re-built the carriage house from the ground up into a habitable space in the early 1990s, so she's decided to sell.  Hopefully, whoever buys it will only develop the front portion of the lot, and will keep the rear carriage house.

I've never seen a property like this for sale! Seeing something like this is one of the awesome perks of being a realtor.
